Nothing Really
Oct. 18th, 2020 08:00 pmSuffering in the heat right now, as per usual this time of year, but trying a bunch of things to help with that, and some of them must be helping, because I have been doing better over the past two days than I was before that.
Anyway, got my writing goal for today done, 509 words so far! I'll be writing a some more in a bit, so it'll definitely go over that even though at the time of posting this it is pretty late already. Thinking I might actually be able to get this chapter to a story I had't even planned on continuing done tomorrow.
Another case of working on something other than what I was going to, but the writing part has gotten fun again. It really helps that I'm not putting these anywhere online just yet, so I can just enjoy them on my own :).

New Story Ideas
Oct. 15th, 2020 08:43 amSo what I did was, I took a break from most of my social media accounts. Not because anything happened on any of those, I've just been having a horrible couple of months in general, and don't have the patience to deal with the climate on those things right now. Anyway, I take this break, and I figure I'll use all this extra time (it's not that much, really) to get some writing done, maybe finish a couple of WIPs.
And it's been going pretty well on that front actually, kind of...
I've gotten a lot of writing done, even updated one of those aforementioned WIPs, but most of the writing I've been doing has been for completely new, unrelated things. One of which is the first really plotty thing I've come up with in a couple of years.
Not complaining, I have been having more fun writing than I have in a while, and I would never complain about that. It's just interesting how much difference a little extra time can have on ones creativity.
And it's been going pretty well on that front actually, kind of...

Hate This Time Of Year
Jan. 12th, 2020 11:01 pmDidn't get much done today, but that's not unusual for the weekends, so I don't feel too bad about it. Spent the whole day nauseous and with a horrible headache; that I did feel bad about, but physically, and it's not unusual for this time of year. Waiting for March and the cooler weather. Got a good idea for that cute ghost story I wanted to write, so it's not all bad, I can always catch up with the things I should have done tomorrow.
No Writing Today, Baby Comes First
Jan. 9th, 2020 10:39 pmMy cat came home this morning, and what we had thought was a little graze on her tail had spread. Turns out it wasn't from some fight with another cat like we thought, but she's been biting out the fur all around the base of her tail on her own.
The most likely cause of this is fleas, which os weird because we didn't notice any, but apparently our cat just grooms herself that well. We got her some ointment and drops from the vet. We'll only really know if it worked when we take her back in three days.

Romance Is Hard
Jan. 9th, 2020 11:30 amTodays mood is wanting to work on that JayEddie highschool AU thing, but not wanting to start up yet another romance WIP. Especially not for a pairing I've never written romantically before. It took my first JaySteph fic like 30 chapters to actually get have any romance in it, so long I considered just turning the thing gen at many points so I could get it done. And even now that I've reached the romance it takes weeks to months to get any chapters involving that romance written. I haven't updated the thing since February last year because I can't get the romance chunk of the next chapter done. I don't want to do that again with the JayEddie thing.
I could always write the HSAU as gen, but I've gotten attached to it being a romance story. Don't know why, seeing as how romance is thr hardest thing on tbe planet for me to actually write. If I just started the story, I'd get like, the first four chapters up really quickly, and then feel horrible again when the rest of it took so long.
Just going to keep working on the non romantic Jason and Eddie thing instead.

Athsma Strikes

Deleted Tumblr Again
Jan. 4th, 2020 04:31 pmNot my account, just the app off of my phone again, I'll probably reinstall it when I finish up a request or something. Tumblrs just one of those things that used to be a whole lot of fun, when there were fan comics and fun meta and short ficlets written by cool authors. Now its just in fighting, all the comics are either discontinued or moved elsewhere.
The meta is all about how liking this sort of story is immoral or how this character is evil and that one stole all this story beats from that character and so you're immoral for liking your favourite more. And heaven forbid you like more than one character equally, because you're not going to find a blog that doesn't passive aggressively bash the hell out of at least onw of them. The only reason I even still use the thing is to interact with the handful of friends I've made and the few writers amd artists that haven't gotten sucked into the bullshit yet.
It's exhausting, and far from the source of inspiration it was even only a year ago.
I have an idea of what caused all the crap to float to the surface there, and I hope it washes it away eventually too. Because right now it seems to he a breeding ground for assholes who want to be angels and those are the worst kind of assholes.

Dec. 5th, 2019 07:14 pmI stupidly let my younger sister wax my legs and the pain is fucking horrific. I have a high pain tolerance, but this is ridiculous, how the hell are there people that do this to themselves all the time?!
Comics Rant
Nov. 4th, 2019 03:36 pmI'm so tired of comic books, and its the weirdest thing because I still love all the characters, but the story's? God, everything's just so edgy. And as much as I enjoy some sadness and angst and whatever, these comics are being edgy just for the sake of being edgy. There's no meat to any of the stories to make them at all interesting. They've become edgy and boring at the same freaking time.
This character dies and that character has edgy amnesia - like it's really the edgyest amnesia arc ever, and another character turns into a whimy, whiny asshole.
Even my favourite comic, that's actually gone the opposite way, and become softer, and something I'd usually really enjoy, I haven't picked up in months. Because if the writer of the other edgy book decides to do something edgy with my favourite character, that will probably come before the plans for his own writer.
Even the comic based TV show I enjoyed has gone the way of the bored edge.
Time to crawl back to anime and back issues for my entertainment and await the next reboot or rebranding or whatever the dumbasses in charge are going to do to fix the falling sales.
