dailypromptPenpals are fun. Picking out the coolest stationary, writing letters, waiting replies, and that excitement when that reply came nestled between the bills and other daily mail. Eddie loved it. Less fun was when those replies had stopped coming. Every Sunday for a long time, he staked out the mailbox. Even when he’d learned why.
Dead penpals can’t write back.
Figures Eddie’s penpal found a way, and a reply comes only when Eddie no longer has a mailbox to stake out. He doesn’t question how, but he does mention the ninja deliveryman in his reply. That’s a bit much.
